<div><strong>A Friend in Crisis Needs Our Support</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are four friends of Moses Asuquo, and we are reaching out to you today because our friend desperately needs help. Around the summer of 2018, we established a WhatsApp group called "HELP FOR MOSES" to coordinate various forms of assistance—counseling, financial support, and moral encouragement—that we had been independently offering Moses over the years. Now, Moses faces the most serious challenge of his life, and we are asking for your compassion and generosity to help him through this difficult time.
</div>

</div>
<div><strong>Who is Moses Asuquo?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Moses graduated from Principia College in 2008 with a degree in computer science. He is a talented, hardworking individual who has always strived to build a better life for himself and his family. Moses is married and has a daughter whom he loves dearly. However, he is currently going through a divorce and is in the midst of a painful custody battle for his child.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite his education and efforts to establish himself in the United States, Moses never got his immigration status adjusted to permanent residence. He is currently self-petitioning with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). A VAWA self-petition allows abused spouses, children, and parents of U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents to file for immigration status on their own, without their abuser's knowledge or cooperation. Moses's decision to pursue this path speaks to the difficult circumstances he has endured.

</div>
<div><strong>The Current Crisis</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On December 30, Moses was picked up by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He is currently being held at the Sainte Genevieve County Jail, located 60 miles south of St. Louis, Missouri. His detention has created a cascade of urgent needs that he cannot meet on his own.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Moses is facing:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Legal fees for an immigration attorney who can help him post bond and fight for his release
</div>
<div>Bond costs to secure his freedom while his case is pending
</div>
<div>Impound fees to get his car released
</div>
<div>Past due rent that must be paid to avoid eviction
</div>
<div>Medical expenses so he can continue seeing a healthcare practitioner for his mental health condition
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why We Need Your Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Moses is in a vulnerable position. He is separated from his daughter during a custody battle, detained far from home, and struggling with mental health challenges that require ongoing treatment. Without financial support, he cannot afford the legal representation he needs to navigate the complex immigration system, nor can he address the basic necessities that have piled up during this crisis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hiring an experienced immigration attorney to handle his VAWA self-petition and secure his release on bond
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Posting bond so Moses can fight his case from outside detention
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Retrieving his impounded vehicle, which he needs for work and to maintain contact with his daughter
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Paying past due rent to prevent homelessness
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Continuing mental health treatment with a qualified medical practitioner
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How You Can Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any amount you can contribute will make a meaningful difference in Moses's life. Whether it's $10, $50, $100, or more, every donation brings him one step closer to freedom, stability, and the chance to continue being a father to his daughter.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you cannot donate at this time, we ask that you please share this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who see Moses's story, the greater the chance we can reach our goal and give him the help he needs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>A Message of Gratitude</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We, Moses's friends, have witnessed his struggles and his resilience over the years. We know the kind, intelligent, and caring person he is beneath these circumstances. Moses deserves a chance to rebuild his life, to be there for his daughter, and to contribute positively to his community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We shall be grateful for any help you can offer Moses. Your generosity, compassion, and willingness to stand with someone in their darkest hour can change the trajectory of his life. Thank you for taking the time to read Moses's story, and thank you for whatever support you can provide.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Together, we can help Moses find his way back to freedom and hope.
