My name is Mrs. Victoria Artis, often referred to as Mom Artis.

Those of you who know me know that my family and I are known for doing all that we can to help everyone we can. We have had some major challenges since my husband, Ron Artis Sr., passed away, but through it all, we have continued to contribute to our local families (Ohana) and our global family as well!

Today, I’m reaching out to you because of the major loss and damage to our home, our work supplies, equipment, vehicles, and so much more due to the storm damage and severe flooding in our community on the Northshore of Oahu, Hawaii. Should you feel compelled to send a financial Love Token our way to help us during this major time of need, it will be greatly appreciated!

We were evacuated from the Northshore after all power (electricity) and the cell towers were disconnected, and we were unable to contact anyone. We had to catch a ride to higher ground in the rain and search for friends in the surrounding area who were willing to give us temporary shelter since the shelter in our area also had to be evacuated when it too was flooded out, even though it was already inaccessible to us! So many people were swept away by rushing water in the middle of the night while sleeping in their beds or were awakened by their cars floating away and their neighbors screaming for help in the night and early morning during the torrential rains and rushing waters overcoming our neighborhoods just moments after warnings of dam / lèvee failure in progress or expected from the Wahiawa dam above our town. Businesses are closed, streets and bridges are crumbling, and all potable water sources are contaminated. The electricity has only been restored to the Turtle Bay Resort area and the adjoining neighborhood! The shelters are closing tonight, and people have been told to return home. But our water is not fit for human consumption as is, and the electricity that pumps the water to the homes is still off, even though we have been told to heat the water to boiling before use! Our sources of income are cut off at this time, and our funds are running low. As always, when we are blessed to have, we help others. But the streets are still flooded with sewage and other contaminants in ankle to knee-high water, and we are simply trying to clean up so that we can find some sort of normalcy again or at least survive and help others do the same.

Yes, our faith in God is strong as ever, as is our faith in you to help us make it through these challenging times.
