Help Find Louie's Pizza of Cape May a New Home!

The first week of April was just like any other in the past 24 years. Preparing for warmer weather, and this year lifted COVID restrictions, to bring in summer crowds and boost business. My family has been running Louie's Pizza on Gurney St. for 24 years, and both the shop and my passionate father have become Cape May staples. The carriage rides that go through this charming town gallop past our store and while stopped at the light can be heard telling their riders,” To the right is Louie’s Pizza, the best pizza in town.” We were voted number one pizza in South Jersey by Philadelphia Magazine the year before everything went crazy.


 
The creativity and brawn behind Louie's Pizza is my eccentric father Mohamed Abdelsalam. He is an immigrant from Egypt who risked everything to come to the US in his 20's. He had nothing but his hopes and dreams of creating a better life for himself and his beloved family back in Egypt. He started working at a pizza shop in Atlantic City where he met and fell in love with my mom Lisa Abdelsalam. And the rest is history, they knew pizza brought them together and it is what they would do to support their family.


 
 Unfortunately Louie’s Pizza lost its lease for that location, and although we have our equipment, we must relocate the shop.
 
Since the starting point of this gofundme we have reached an agreement with the Owner of the building. His generosity will enable us to have a fresh start in PA, he will return our equipment and drop all court proceedings.
 
Our goal of $150,000 is to find and open a new shop. While my family is heartbroken about losing this treasured location in Cape May, we want to carry on the Louie’s Pizza tradition, juat at a new location to continue to serve all our loyal customers the best pizza around.
