Help Modern Grill Survive The Corona-19 Shutdown

We can not express how full are hearts are with the response that we have gotten with our gofundme in such a short amount of time! It was totally unexpected and faith building. Since you have gone out of your way to help us in our time of need when things are tough for all of us, we have decided to implement a pay it forward program. For every $20 we receive through donations we commit to feeding one person in need once it is safe again for people to come in and eat. We have a pending start date for this program on June 1st. You have not just helped us now, but your kindness has helped someone else in the future. We will get through this together. Stay in and stay safe.
As you know all bars and many restaurants closed on March 16th at 5 pm due to the Corona-19 epidemic. What you may not know is that several of the smaller places may not be able to withstand the closure and very well may not reopen.  Originally the closure was to be until March 30th, which we most likely could have survived. Unfortunately it was then changed to April 7th, but now we are told to expect to stay closed most of April and possibly until May. There are very few businesses big or small that can afford to be closed for a month or more, us being one of them.

We are a family owned establishment that have been at this location since 1988, but have served the neighborhood for 50 years. This location has been a restaurant since the 1940's and has seen the neighborhood and the city change considerable. If any of you have come in you are aware that we are truly family, related by blood and some by just the sheer years that we have been connected. For us to close our doors due to this epidemic would mean that our whole family would have not only lost everything that we've put our hearts and souls into for over over 32 years, but that the entire family would be unemployed in one fell swoop. This would be devastating to us on  many fronts. not just a financial one. And keep in mind how harder it would be for us since it would be of no fault of our own, but due to an unseen, undetectable virus that has decimated the world. Who could have foreseen this catastrophe?
Any funds that we are fortunate to receive would be used entirely for the business. To keep it open and to keep everyone employed.  The funds will firstly be used for our employees, many who have had difficulty registering for unemployment, and secondarily for bills. It is more important that we pay our people first since without them,  just like without our customers, we have no business.
Obviously the sooner we are gifted the funds the better.  That would mean that we can help our employees that much faster. This would help them with necessaries, such as food, medicine, and other personal needs. If possible we would like to make sure they receive the pay that they would have received if we had stayed open. The reason for this is because although bills have been temporally postponed they have not been forgiven. So even though they may not be asking for their money right now they will be asking for it and most of us our already living on a tight budget.
47004466_1585426536397566_r.jpegThere would no words that we could use to describe what the help from our community would mean to us. It would mean so many things. The first being that you love us as much as we love you. The second would be that you want to help us stay here longer, which we also wish to do. Not only would we like to stay in business at this location, but we would also like to keep our Grill family whole, which might only be possible if you're generous enough to help us achieve our goal.
47004466_1585430705534483_r.jpegWe understand that at this time everyone is in need and we are not claiming to be special or worth more attention then any other business. What we are claiming is with the long history that we have in this neighborhood and at this location we are loyal. We are loyal and appreciate every single person that has walked through our door. We have helped those that were in need and we have always been there for our neighbors, and never have asked or expected any reciprocal actions. Unfortunately we have found ourselves in a position that we are in need and must ask for help. We come to you humbly, hoping that you will see the sincerity in our plea and that you will find it in your hearts to help us. Help us stay in business, help us stay together as a working unit, and allow us to continue to serve our community. And in return we will promise to stay here to serve you and to continue to help others wherever and whenever the need arises. You have our word that we WILL pay it forward.
47004466_158543181964207_r.jpegPlease help our employees and customers stay a family and join us, there is always room at our table for more. We appreciate any and all considerations. Nothing is too small. Even a dollar or two would help us reach our goal. Everything adds up. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
