Help Mo After Coyote Attack

Donation protected

Allie here. I am creating a GoFundMe for my friend & bandmate Gina, who's cat was attacked by a coyote & is now facing serious medical treatment.

Everyone that knows Gina knows how selfless, generous and supportive she is to everyone around her. If you've met Gina you will also know that she always avoids imposing on others - but she needs our help.

Those of you with pets know they are like family members. From the bottom of our hearts, Gina, her friends, family & bandamtes appreciate any size donation.

Here's what happened:

Our dear sweet Mo was taken from our front yard 3/6/18 at around 1:00 AM by a coyote that jumped our fence. She never goes beyond our apartment complex, so I can only assume a coyote jumped the fence, or someone left our front gate open so one could enter easily. A Good Samaritan saw her in the mouth of a coyote driving down a busy street not too far from our home.  She was able to spook the coyote by honking her car horn. The coyote eventually dropped Mo and ran off. The kind woman took Mo home and brought her to the Pasadena Humane Society the following afternoon.

The events that transpired occurred very quickly... It’s a miracle she’s alive and I owe everything to the kind soul who chose to stop and risk her own safety to help Mo. I still can’t believe what happened and my boyfriend and I are deeply disturbed by what our poor sweet cat has been through. We cannot even imagine how she must feel.

Mo four has puncture wounds - two on her hip and two on her throat where the coyote tried to crush her. Her left eye is also extremely swollen from trauma.

The doctor says her eye does not appear to be permanently damaged. The greatest concern is the damage to her throat. She will likely need a very invasive tracheal surgery.

Mo is in great care and I trust that her doctor is doing everything he can...

Unfortunately, I was not financially prepared for this life emergency... I will do anything I can to make sure we try our best to bring Mo  back to health. My friend gave me this idea to seek out the kindness and generosity of friends and strangers. I hate to ask for help from anyone, but I really need your help and most of all Mo needs your help. I don’t know if she will be able to live a normal life in the future and she might have special needs for the rest of her life. I’m trying to be optimistic. I am at peace knowing she is alive, but I can’t live with the idea of her being in constant pain.

Anything you can contribute is immensely appreciated and you will forever have my gratitude. Each donor will receive a  photo and thank you letter from Mo, when she is well enough to write one. Her medical costs will likely exceed what I am asking, but if not, any remaining funds after she is fully healed will be donated to the Pasadena Humane Society.

Thank you for reading.

Mo’s History:

Mo entered my life after my mom rescued her in 2014. She was neglected and abandoned by her previous owners. When my mom saved her, she was outside in the rain, her fur matted with blood from itching and biting her own skin. She is very allergic to fleas and is not supposed to go outside. Mo was born an outdoor cat and has spent the first two years of her life as one. She has an adventurous spirit and loves to bask in the sun and rest her body against the sun-baked pavement.

Mo still begs us to let her outside even though she knows she isn’t supposed to. We try to keep her inside so her flea allergies don’t get out of hand. However, I tend cave to her begging , as I did the night of 3/6/18. She didn’t come back as she normally does, (usually 5 minutes later, patiently waiting at our doorstep).
