Help Mittens Get The Treatment He Needs

On 6/29 I was sitting downstairs when I heard a very loud thump and lots of howling from upstairs. I went upstairs to find our cat Mittens sprawled out, tail bushy, eyes erratic, stumbling around on his side. It looked like he had no use of his back legs and was spinning in circles erratically.

We immediately brought him to Saint Francis in Swedesboro as they were the closest to us up the street. They were unable to do much and suggested we go to a 24 hour care center like Mount Laurel. At SF they gave him anti nausea medication and sent us to an 24/7 emergency vet care.

Mount Laurel informed us it looks like it’s an underlying issue that caused the blood clot and would like to run all the tests they can to find the route cause. Mittens is a young cat so they’re highly concerned on what happened tonight. We would like to give Mittens the best possible care and try any treatment as possible.

If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Mittens you know he was the greeter of our household and instantly bonded with everyone. He is a total love bug and lives for snuggles. He adores our beagle Snoopy and loves to cuddle our toddler. Mittens loves his belly rubs and loves to spend his evenings dozing off in the sun rays.

We were able to visit Mittens before we left as we were at ML for 2 hours.

When we got to visit him before leaving we got to cuddle him and even through the pain he started purring and snuggling with us and even started to doze off into my hand as I was scratching his ear. When the vet knocked on the door he perked his ears up and immediately opened his eyes. The difference between when we brought him in and before we left was definitely noticeable. ML was able to stabilize him, we have high hopes.

Even if we don’t raise the funds we will do everything in our willpower to pay for treatment and bring him home.
