Help Misty Move!
My dear friend Misty Hudson and her daughter, Millie (6), have been living with her mom the last few years. Unfortunately, Misty's mom is getting older and is in the beginning stages of dementia, which has led to erratic and abusive behavior, such as limiting Misty and Millie's activities, burning their personal possessions, threats of violence, increased paranoia, etc. It is no longer a safe situation to raise a child in.
Unfortunately, job opportunities in Misty's area are limited, and even more so by her medical issues. Finding steady employment and a place to live has thus been a major challenge.
Orion and I have offered to help Misty make a new start. There are many jobs in our area and while the cost of living is higher, both Misty and we are confident that she will be much better able to find steady employment to provide for her and her daughter here than she can at home. Having a place to live and the offer of free childcare makes that transition much more doable. We're excited to help Misty and Millie with this new chapter in their lives.
However, Misty lives in Ohio, and we live in Colorado. The cost of moving Misty & Millie's stuff here, as well as gas, a motel, and so on, comes to about $2500. We would super appreciate any help you can give so Misty and Millie can have a better life.
