<div>Paulina rescued Misa 5 years ago, falling in love with her and her goofy little smile. For those who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting sweet little Misa, let us be the first to tell you she is a tiny but fierce and adorable gem that has been such a light in Paulina’s life.

<div>This past year has already been a tough one- Misa was diagnosed with a heart murmur earlier this year and most recently started limping on her back right leg. Further testing this week found that she has a Mast Cell Tumor on the right hind leg which has metastasized to her right popliteal lymph node. 


</div>

<div>Misa will need a consultation with a veterinary oncologist for cytology and an abdominal ultrasound to determine next steps, which may include surgery, chemotherapy, oral medications, etc. In the event of surgery, Misa will also need an echo to evaluate the stability of her heart due to her existing heart condition.

<div>The pictures quote below shows the treatment plan and estimate ranging from $1,287 to $1,609.75 for the initial doctor visit, ultrasound, and cytology. Additional treatment and expenses will likely accrue once the cytology and ultrasound are completed.

<div>Once we know more about the road ahead we will update the goal appropriately, but for the time being we would appreciate any support in raising the funds needed for Misa to get the first round of testing done and be seen by the oncologist.

<div>Paulina was laid off from her full-time job in June 2024, and worked as a substitute teacher from August of 2024 through the end of the school year in Spring 2025. Since then she has been scrambling to find a full-time job, currently working multiple part-time jobs, at an afterschool program, part-time teaching dance, and picking up subbing shifts whenever possible.
