Help Mindy Cole Kick Cancer

To those of you who know Mindy, you know her as a loud, boisterous, and loving of all, including dogs (she might even love dogs more than humans?)  After months of pain and searching for an answer, she was finally diagnosed with colon cancer late last summer.  We have had several ups and downs on the medical assessments journey: from “you’re only going to have surgery”, to: “you’ll have to do nine months of chemo and radiation then surgery.” Now here we are with the reality:  Mindy did have a successful surgery in November to remove the cancer mass, but she is now up against 6 months of chemotherapy.

My sister is not one to ask for help, but I know she needs this right now.  She has not been able to work.  In her community in Telluride, so many know her because she walks local dogs.  When I was there recently, I was amazed that even dogs she does not walk knew her.  Due to her chemo treatments, she is not able to be out in the cold, and initial treatment left her feeling ill and weak afterward.

I know that without her income, and her partner, Chris, who will be taking off work to get her to/from remote treatments, the travel expenses alone are quickly adding up.

Even though she did not want me to do this, I assure you she will be appreciative of the support.  Your contribution will help her, her daughter and her partner pay bills, buy food, and put gas in the car to get to her treatments. Any amount helps.  It is community, generosity, understanding and support that helps people in these circumstances pull through.  Mindy will get through this, and with your love and support, the journey will be a little less arduous.
