Help Milo Walk on All 4 Legs Again!

Those of you who know my Milo are aware that he has probably been through more challenges in his 4 short years of life than any other pup should have to endure in their entire lifetime. At the age of 2, Milo was diagnosed with epilepsy and started on lifelong medications. Then at the age of 3, Milo’s body completely shut down on him due to an autoimmune disease, causing him to spend almost a week in the ICU. It was then that the doctors began telling me that I should start to prepare myself for the worst, but I refused to give up and Milo fought his way through it all.
Milo made a full recovery like the most resilient, determined, and toughest little dog you could imagine. Then as if life hadn’t already thrown enough Milo’s way, on Thanksgiving Day of 2017, he suffered a tragic accident.
Due to a combination of intense steroid hunger and his natural beagle LOVE for food, Milo tried to climb on top of his cage to get some treats. While climbing over, he fell and got his paw stuck in the top spokes of his cage. In a panicked attempt to get free, his survival mode kicked in and Milo chewed off his own front paw. I came home to find him hanging by his leg, unconscious but thankfully still breathing. I immediately rushed him to the hospital where he received emergency surgery and a partial amputation of his right front leg.
Milo recovered again in his usual warrior fashion and began intensive physical therapy to maintain his strength and balance. However, Milo has so desperately wanted to walk on all 4 legs again that he has started trying to walk on his stump. As you may imagine, this has begun to cause some serious damage to his bone and tissues. For the past 8 months, Milo has been unsuccessful at using a doggie wheelchair. This led to his doctor deciding that a prosthetic is the best option for Milo to distribute his weight evenly and stop the damage from progressing.
I have been so fortunate to have pet insurance to help cover a portion of all these traumatic experiences, but they do not cover the $2,800 expense of getting a prosthetic. SO, LONG STORY SHORT, Milo and I are humbly asking for any help that anyone has to offer so that he can try to start healing again and be the happiest, spunkiest 4-legged pup he ever was! He is my whole entire life and has been there for me through some of my toughest times. He truly deserves the world. But for now, we would be so lucky for him to just have 4 legs again. We sincerely appreciate all of the continued love and support from our family, friends, and new strangers.
