Help Miles Write "Service"

Donation protected
When I was born, my parents easily had a malpractice suit. They were an unmarried interacial in 90s. Nothing was done. I went "home."

An extended network of people stepped in to raise me. The word "family" is complicated for me.

I was kicked out from three preschools by age four. Life was scary. I kept going. My family was dysfunctional mess. I'd like to make my own, but I'm toasted.

At age seven, I was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. It's a seriously misunderstood and stigmatized neurogical disorder that forces us to make vocal and motor "tics." Try having friends, getting a job, going to school, or getting a date when you are the odd man out. If you'd like to know what life on the margins is like in this country of ours, give what you can. Because it's not about me. It's about service.

And yet I have felt the need to keep going. And I want to tell this story while I've got time.

The homeless, the abused, the working poor, single parents, orphans, foster kids... those are the people I relate to.

I've seen a lot more than a lot of people can imagine. And I want this story told. I'm not a grifter or a mooch. I want to be of service, whatever that looks like. But I need support.

$10,000 will give me enough income to have the basics so that I can write this down. I plan on using the proceeds to make a nonprofit that helps fix the problems that the people of this country need fixed. Whatever your "race," gender, ideology or party is, anyone who's paying attention knows that we need to fix things. Let me tell my story and do service to the American dream.
