Help Miledy Beat Cancer!

Hello friends and family....  In January, a person I hold very close to my heart, whom I consider my best friend and one of my biggest inspirations for bettering myself -my mother, Miledy Ayala Strait was diagnosed with stage 3 B-Cell non Hodgkins lymphoma. Starting at the early age of fifteen, Miledy has been a hardworking and self reliant individual dedicating more than half of her life helping and caring for other people. She has been a respiratory therapist for 27 years and has cared for patients of all ages and backgrounds. Miledy has shared her knowledge and experience with new therapists coming into the field, helping to build a future with skilled and empathetic care givers. She's been a listener, loaning her ears to patients who didn’t always have a lot hope or someone to talk to.

Miledy’s life as a caregiver extends beyond the hospital. In addition to the time spent caring for patients, Miledy has raised three children as a single mother. She has helped her children further their education, and has done whatever possible to provide for their every need. Miledy has been there to guide, nurture, teach, discipline, and laugh with her children. She's supported all of their dreams and continues to strive to push them forward to seek what is going to make their hearts happy.

Since January, my mother, Mel, has undergone two chemotherapy treatments and is scheduled for four more, prospectively having the last one on June 8th. Currently she in unable to work, and her short term disability insurance leaves a good bit to be desired. If she goes into remission by July, the oncologist will allow her to go back to work, but only then, per her oncologist,  may she commence working. My siblings and I are working to do what we can to help her, but we are turning to all of you with hope for some assistance. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help Mel beat cancer. This money will help cover medical bills and living expenses. Please help my best friend, my mom, win her fight with cancer and donate!
