Help Mike Save His Eyesight

My boyfriend Mike has been having a very difficult time handling his medical expenses. He has been living with type 1 diabetes for over 20 years and has not been able to get insurance for much of that time first due to it being a pre existing condition and then later due to him losing his job from medical complications and not being able to afford the premium. This makes treatment beyond the bare bones necessities a near impossibility. We do not have much. Just the insulin he needs to survive costs roughly $180 a bottle and he goes through about 3 or 4 of those a month. The pods he uses for his insulin pump and the sensors cost roughly $50 each. Pods need to be replaced every 3 days and sensors need to be replaced once a week. This gets expensive fast. He often must resort to using the sensors well past their intended use date in order to make them last as much as possible. He uses them to failure, often resulting in faulty readings once it gets to that point. Due to his lack of ability to pay for many necessities to treat his diabetes he has had many complications. One of the more pressing of which is diabetic retinopathy. His eyesight has been continuously getting worse. He is currently legally blind. The doctor told him this needed to be operated on asap roughly 6 months ago or he risks permanent total blindness. It continues to get worse every day. I was able to get him an ophthalmologist apointment and they said if we don't act fast he risks complete retinal detatchment. His sight is bad enough now that I am his eyes and his functionality is severely limited. We are doing everything in our power to try and keep this from getting worse. I don't know if we can ever get his eyes back to 100% but we can at least stop it from getting any worse and hopefully improve it if we can get him the surgeries he needs. Mike suffered from an ulcer on his toe that got so bad the infection spread to the bone. He had to have it amputated to save his life. That is getting infected again and we can't afford to get him in with the podiatrist. If it gets worse he risks losing more of his foot and that could eventually progress to the amputation of his entire leg. Without this care he could die. He has a son that depends on him. Nate needs a father. We've been scraping together money we don't have to get him the treatment we are able to. I have gone into pretty serious debt trying to provide for him as much as I can. We can't do this alone. Even if you are not able to do much, please help us if you are able. Every little bit helps. I promised him I would do everything in my power to get him the treatment he needs. I don't care what it takes. Please help me save his eyes, his leg, his life. Please.
