Move Mountains for Mike

Michael Carreon, 42, is our eldest sibling in our family. He is the one providing and taking care of my Mom who had mild stroke two years ago and still going on her theraphy. He is the BEST  Brother or “kuya” as we call him in filipino because he always thinks about our wellfare even we already have our own family. Whenever we need help financially or emotionally, he is always there to help not asking any in return.
Last saturday March 24th, midnight, after visiting my Dad, he had a stroke. Because they are spending a week in my other brother’s place in Taguig, Metro Manila, unfortunately, the nearest hospital at that time for emergency is St Lukes Hospital, a premium hospital in the Philippines. When they arrived in the hospital and after a CT scan was done, the doctor said they need to do a brain surgery ASAP because 62% of his brain was covered with blood already and if they are going to wait, he will only have 20% chance of survival. The operation went well but he is still in the ICU. We are hoping that he will continue to fight and he will have a speedy recovery.
My brother, unfortunately again, just started in his new job 4 days ago. So he still doesn’t have the health insurance coverage from the company because he will only get coverage upon regularization, which is after 6 months. Running bill from St. Lukes as of today, March 27th has already gone up to Php 650,000 (CAD $16,250) mainly because of the major operation they did to him. Everyday he spends in the ICU will cost us about Php 40,000-50,000 ($1000-1250). We are thinking of transferring him to a government hospital as soon as we get clearance from his doctors but right now he needs to stay in St lukes.
