My best friend, Mikayla, just welcomed her beautiful son, Anthony, into the world. 7 weeks early.

While pregnant, Mikayla was working two jobs, doing everything she could to save and prepare for his arrival. But when she was unexpectedly hospitalized and diagnosed with pre-eclampsia, everything changed. At just 33 weeks, she had to undergo an emergency c-section to bring Anthony safely into the world.

Anthony is currently in the NICU, and while he’s making progress, the weeks ahead will be challenging. Mikayla’s husband, Nick, works tirelessly to provide for their growing family, but between the sudden hospital stay, caring for their 4-year-old at home, and the expenses that come with a NICU journey, the financial strain has been overwhelming.

Childbirth is already a monumental emotional and physical challenge, but having your newborn in the NICU brings an entirely different level of stress and heartache. Mikayla is an incredible mother. Loving, selfless, and devoted, not only to her own children, but to every child she's ever around. She inspires me to me a more present mother to my own children every day. She deserves to focus her energy on bonding with her baby and healing, not worrying about how to make ends meet.

I’m asking for us to come together as a community to help lift some of that weight off her shoulders. Mikayla would never ask for help, she's the type of woman who is always offering to help others. She's helped me too many times to count. But it's time to show up and show out for our girl ✨️
