<div>Wat begon als een gewone middag, eindigde in een nachtmerrie. Door een brand aan de Akker in Oudesluis op 12 Januari 2026, is de woning waarin mijn zoon Roberto en ik samen woonden volledig afgebrand. De brand heeft urenlang gewoed tot diep in de avond, alles wat we hadden is verloren gegaan.

<div>Het verlies gaat verder dan stenen en spullen. Alle tastbare herinneringen aan mijn vrouw, Roberto’s moeder, die vijf jaar geleden plotseling is overleden, lagen in het huis en zijn volledig verdwenen. Foto’s, persoonlijke bezittingen en dierbare herinneringen zijn voorgoed weg. Daarnaast worden een aantal van onze katten nog vermist.

<div>De schade is gigantisch. De resten van de woning moeten eerst volledig worden opgeruimd voordat er überhaupt aan herstel gedacht kan worden. Hiervoor zijn onder andere puinbakken, een graafmachine en specialistische afvoer nodig. De kosten hiervoor lopen enorm op.

<div>Door zware financiële tegenslagen in de afgelopen jaren was de woning op het moment van de brand niet verzekerd. Roberto is ZZP’er en heeft tweemaal langdurig thuis gezeten met een dubbele hernia, waarvoor hij meerdere operaties heeft moeten ondergaan. Hierdoor was werken lange tijd onmogelijk. In combinatie met de financiële gevolgen van de coronapandemie is de verzekering destijds stopgezet.

<div>Als vader breekt het mijn hart om mijn zoon zo te zien. We staan nu samen met lege handen en zonder vangnet. Met deze inzamelingsactie hopen we hulp te krijgen bij de eerste noodzakelijke kosten, zodat mijn zoon en ik stap voor stap weer iets kunnen opbouwen.
