Michelle's Mission

On August 27th, 2017, Michelle Hutchinson went to the ER for abdominal pain and was admitted immediately to begin Stage IV colon cancer treatment.  Her cancer originated in the colon and then spread to the left and right lobes of her liver.  At 37 years old, you can imagine this was quite a shock for Michelle and her young family.  Since her diagonsis 6 months ago, Michelle has submitted herself into the most agressive treatment plan that her doctors will allow.

Michelle has undergone numerous rounds of debilitating chemotherapy that have presented many unwanted side effects such as neuropathy, weight loss and extreme lethargy/pain.  She recently (Feb 2018) underwent surgery at Johns Hopkins to remove her colon and a partial resection of the left lobe of her liver.  The right lobe of her liver is too diffusely diseased, so a second surgery will be required to remove the entire right lobe as well as her gallbladder and any lymph nodes that could be affected.  At the end of March, Michelle will have radiation seeds implanted into the right lobe of her liver to help contain the cancer in that area until they are able to operate again.  The plan was to also perform embolization on the left lobe of her liver (encourage the clean cells to grow) in order to speed up the second surgery.  Unfortunately, the margins from the first liver surgery were not clean (there is still cancer present in the left lobe) which changes her treatment plan a bit.  Instead of going directly into the second liver surgery after radiation, she must now undergo 2-3 rounds of additional chemo before she can have her second surgery.

Michelle is one of the STRONGEST women I know.  But she has alot of fighting left to do and she needs our support.  Michelle had to resign from her job after the diagnosis and Andrew is currently supporting their family of 4 on one income while also attending school full time.  Their daughter, Emma, is now 2 and Tyler just turned 12.

Please help us lift her up emotionally and financially through the biggest fight of her life.  Any and all donations are greatly appreciated (monetary or otherwise).  Please also leave Michelle with some words of encouragement and/or Bible verses to help her through the difficult times.   We love you all and please keep Michelle, her doctors and her healing in your prayers!
