<div>Recently, Michael suffered a tragic accident while kite surfing. Overnight our whole lives and the lives of our children were turned upside down. From being the happiest we have ever been as newly weds 3 months earlier to the uncertain reality we now face.

<div>Sadly, Michael suffered a spinal injury fracturing his spine and damaging his spinal cord leaving him permanently paralysed from below the chest, along with a large part of his spine being fused. He is now left mourning half of his body and a large part of his identity as a surfer, kite surfer and all round ocean lover.

<div>I am thankful everyday that my husband is still with us and our five children still have their father to love and guide them through life. As we embark on this new journey we know it will be a long, tough road but I know that together we can get through anything and Michael will make the most out of the cards he has been dealt. He is so brave and strong and I couldn’t be prouder to be his wife.
