<div>Our dear friends and family, we are humbly asking for your help. Michael Hudgens, beloved husband, father, and provider is in declining health.

<div>He was diagnosed with <strong>Relapsing Polychondritis</strong>, a rare autoimmune disease, in 2015 though he has been experiencing symptoms for far longer. The disease has been progressing and attacking the cartilage in his body leaving him most times immobilized due to pain and fatigue, unable to work. This disease seems to be attacking his scar tissue as well and if you know him, you’ll recall he has plenty of that to go around from years of hard work and many surgeries. He has already had a double hip replacement due to the medication needed to help keep the flares at bay and reduce the length of time the flares last. Through the years, the flares have become more frequent and are lasting longer. He is no longer able to be on the medication as the side effects are too strenuous on other aspects of his health.

<div><strong>Why Michael needs your help:</strong>

<div>While he is desperately trying to get approval for disability, bills still demand to be paid - medical or otherwise. Anyone who knows him understands how important it is to him to be the provider and protector for his family. He has been unable to do so for a while and with the disability approval process in Texas being lengthier than expected, the bills for their basic necessities are becoming increasingly difficult to pay. Michael has always extended a helping hand to everyone, now it’s time for his family and friends to take care of him so we come to you for help.

<div>They would not usually ask this of anyone, especially him, but after watching them struggle with only one income they gave me their blessing to create this. His wife, Laura, is working full time at the school along with a part time after school position, summer jobs, and anything else she can do. While her efforts are strong and family members help as they can, they are falling behind.
