<div>As many of you know, August 7th, 2019 changed the lives of many people, leaving a wake of destruction and broken hearts. 
</div>
<div>Michael Barisone is a much-loved member of the dressage community. Michael was a member of the 2008 Olympic team, he has won countless CDIs at the Grand Prix level, and he has coached a myriad of riders from Olympians to juniors just starting on the path to greatness.
</div>
<div>For the past 2 and a half years, Michael has been waiting for the truth to come out surrounding the incidents that prompted his arrest. That day has finally arrived, and he has been vindicated! 
</div>
<div>I started this GoFundMe at the overwhelming request of the horse community. The attorney fees are quite substantial, and, with the upcoming civil suit, they will continue to grow. I will be applying any donations toward those fees, as there is still much more work to be done so that the tragic reality of this situation can be told in its entirety.  
</div>
<div>I cannot express my gratitude enough for the overwhelming support of Michael, and any help, whether in the form of a donation or just a letter of support, is very much appreciated.

<div>As of April 19, Michael is currently awaiting transfer to the state-run facility for his evaluation, preceding a hearing on May 17th, 2022. 
</div>
