<div>I came across Metro while driving one evening and noticed he was helping people cross the road safely at night — completely free, simply because he didn’t want anyone else to go through what he experienced. After talking with him, I learned he has personally been hit by a car multiple times in the past. Instead of stepping away from that danger, he chose to stand there and protect others.

<div>Metro never asked for attention or money. He simply shows up.

<div>Beyond that, he’s working hard to save for a car so he can secure stable transportation. He has also been supporting his sister who is in college by paying the apartment they currently stay in. He currently pays about $1,500 a month in rent while living with his sister, who is putting most of her income toward school so she can build a better future for herself. With the cost of living rising and job stability uncertain, saving for a vehicle has been extremely difficult.
