WHO WE ARE


Cat Shelter Meow Paws Macedonia is a rescue organisation run by just two people, Iva and Misko, who have dedicated their lives to rescuing and rehoming stray cats and dogs in Skopje, Macedonia.

There are literally hundreds of strays on the streets, eating from dustbins, at risk of injury or poisoning. Iva and Misko raise funds to enable them to feed the street dogs and cats twice a day, ensure they receive veterinary care, taking them in for vaccinations, worming treatment and sterilisations. Unfortunately, there are very, very few shelters in Macedonia and they have to take a lucky few who are too vulnerable to live on the streets into their own home. Where possible, they find suitable forever homes and transport them all over Europe to start new lives in safe, loving homes.

Unfortunately, the vast majority are returned to the street after neutering, where they check on their welfare and feed them twice a day. All too often, they find animals who have been beaten, poisoned or abandoned due to illness old age, left to die alone on the street. 


 HOW YOU CAN HELP


Cat Shelter Meow Paws needs larger premises with outside space where they can build a safe refuge for as many animals as possible. Currently they have to pay for commercial kennelling which is very expensive or return animals back to the street. It would be far cheaper in the long run to have their own building with indoor and outdoor space for the animals to recover safely, allowing them more time to assess them for suitable homes. With their own dedicated animal shelter many, many more cats and dogs of Skopje and the surrounding areas with have a safe refuge. Some, who are too old or sick to rehome, will have a safe place to live for the rest of their lives, surrounded by love, good food and home comforts . Please help us achieve our dream.

The cost of this is €25 000.


 


This is relatively little in comparison to the cost of commercial kennels over time and will mean they can save far more animals and offer more space for them to recover, live in peace safe from violence and poisoning, to receive love and respect and prepare for their new homes.
