Mendel Behkerman is a close friend who has been facing an incredibly tough situation for the past two years. Last year, Mendel was driving someone else’s car when he turned a right corner and crashed straight into a tree. The accident was serious—if not for the tree, the car could have gone off a cliff. Because the car wasn’t his and he didn’t have insurance, Mendel was left with a large debt that he’s been struggling to pay off ever since.

 Despite this, Mendel hasn’t given up. He’s been working multiple jobs every day while also attending school and working hard to keep his grades high. Every dollar he earns goes straight to paying off the debt, leaving him with nothing for himself. The stress of balancing work, school, and financial pressure has been overwhelming, but Mendel keeps pushing forward, determined to get through this difficult time.
