Help Melinda's fight against cancer

Melinda, our dear friend, is undergoing cancer treatment for the second time this year.  She is a single parent to her beautiful daughter, Monica.  Together they are fighting the battle but need some financial assistance for the many unexpected costs incurred with cancer treatment.

On a reduced income, covering household expenses like groceries, upkeep of the house, travel to appointments, etc, has been an extra source of stress for Melinda.

Her first round of chemotherapy and radiation for advanced cervical cancer brought on a world of pain, nausea and fatigue for Melinda.  Treatment drew every ounce of strength from her body, as is typical of this treatment, making simple tasks like making a bed difficult.

After finding out her cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, Melinda was devastated to find out the treatments would start all over again.

Melinda has worked tirelessly over the past 19 years at the Hospital for Sick Children, going above and beyond her role to support and accommodate sick children and their families.  As well, she was a great support to her colleagues ensuring seamless communication between staff in various departments to provide the best possible care.  She was always a smiling face, a bright light and happy to lend an ear to her colleagues, truly caring about each and every one of us.
