Trigger Warning: Pregnancy Loss, Miscarriage, Ectopic Pregnancy

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult times in my life, hoping for support as my boyfriend, Rami, and I navigate a heartbreaking journey of loss, medical complications, and the overwhelming costs that have come with it.

Our Story

In September, at 16 weeks pregnant, we found out that our baby boy had stopped growing. I had to undergo a D&C to remove him, which was one of the hardest moments of our lives. In the months that followed, we endured countless tests—genetic testing, tubal dye tests, fertility appointments—searching for answers that we still don’t have.

We struggled to conceive again and after 6.5 months, my doctor prescribed Clomid to help. On Valentine’s Day—our son’s due date—I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. We were filled with hope, only to have it shattered when my HCG levels didn’t rise properly. A chemical pregnancy was confirmed, and I miscarried naturally.

Still, we pressed on. I started Clomid again and on March 13th, I got another positive pregnancy test. We were cautiously optimistic, but my HCG levels were rising slowly, causing concern. Then, on March 21st, I started spotting. At first, I thought it was implantation bleeding, but after researching and feeling a minor shoulder pain, I feared an ectopic pregnancy and went to the ER.

At the hospital, they couldn’t locate the pregnancy but reassured me it might just be too early. My HCG levels continued to rise, so I held onto hope. But by March 25th, the bleeding worsened, and my levels started dropping—another miscarriage. I thought that was it, but my nightmare wasn’t over.

The Emergency That Changed Everything

On March 27th, while trying to go about my day, I suddenly felt worsening cramps and exhaustion. By 9:30 PM, I was in unbearable pain—radiating through my abdomen, back, and down my leg. I told Rami something was wrong.

We rushed to the ER, where my HCG had unexpectedly jumped again. An ultrasound confirmed my worst fear: an ectopic pregnancy. I was devastated. I prayed I wouldn’t need surgery, that I could take the medication instead. But the doctor warned me that waiting could be life-threatening.

At 3:30 AM, I was prepped for emergency surgery, terrified of losing my fallopian tube and what that would mean for our future. By 5:39 AM, I woke up to devastating news—the pregnancy had ruptured, and they had to remove my fallopian tube to save my life.

Why We Need Help

Since September, we have faced immense emotional and physical pain, but also an overwhelming financial burden. With multiple miscarriages, specialist visits, fertility treatments, and now emergency surgery, our medical bills have been stacking up.

We are currently seeking care from the MN Perinatal Clinic and other specialists to determine our next steps. The possibility of IVF is now a real conversation, but it is incredibly expensive.

Any support—whether a donation, a share, or just keeping us in your thoughts—means the world to us. This fundraiser will help with:
• Existing medical bills from multiple pregnancy losses
• Costs from emergency surgery and hospital stays
• Time off work due to recovery
• Future specialist visits to find answers and plan our next steps

Rami and I are heartbroken but still holding onto hope for our future family. If you are able to donate, we would be forever grateful. If you can’t, please consider sharing our story.

Thank you for your kindness, support, and love during this incredibly difficult time.

With gratitude,
Megan & Rami
