Hi everyone, my name is Michelle Cabrera.

Three years ago, I traveled to Kimche, Nepal, where I lived for three months with a local host family and volunteered as an English teacher. What started as a service trip quickly became something much deeper — Kimche became my second home, and the children I taught became family.

I spent six hours a day, six days a week, not just teaching English, but truly investing in each student’s growth. I listened to their stories, encouraged their dreams, and watched their confidence grow little by little. I genuinely came to love each and every one of them.

With your support last time, we were able to do something incredible — we raised enough money to buy brand-new tracksuit uniforms for all 80 students, from grades 1 through 8. Seeing the joy and pride on their faces when they received their uniforms is something I’ll never forget. It was a powerful reminder of how far a little generosity can go.

Now, I’m returning to Kimche this August — and I want to keep showing up for this community that gave me so much. This time, the goal is to raise $3500 to build a small chamber at the water source, run a 1.5km pipe up to the school, install a purifier, and set up multiple taps for the kids to have access to clean drinking water. Many of the kids suffer from waterborne parasites and having access to clean water would improve their lives greatly. Most of the children live below the poverty line, and even a $5 donation can make a real difference.

These kids are bright, resilient, and full of potential. I believe in them with all my heart, and I’m asking for your help once again to give them the tools they need to keep learning and thriving.
