Help me study at University of Colorado at Boulder

My name is Nver Khachatryan. I have been admitted to the University of Colorado Boulder Undergraduate Computer Science program. Tuition and living expenses at the University of Colorado at Boulder for the 2019-2020 academic year will amount to $60000 US. I have applied to various Scholarships Funds with hope that they will help me to cover the fees. I will have to prove the University that I will have the necessary funds to finance my education by the end of June in order to be able to attend.

I currently study at Quantum college and will graduate in June 2019. During my studies at Quantum, I started to improve my knowledge in physics and mathematics and particularly in IT sphere. That’s why I attended TUMO creative center. After doing some research I decided to narrow my future studies to computer science. March 1 became the turning point in my life – I received an offer from the University of Colorado Boulder. My happiness had no end! I am admitted to the University of Colorado Boulder's Computer Science faculty. The University of Colorado at Boulder is one of the top 40 universities in the world and the 11th one in Natural Sciences and Mathematics. At university, I want to specialize in machine learning.

I am convinced that a well-educated society is the basis of democracy and prosperity of each developed country, I understand the need for a world-class university education, its need and importance for my professional growth, as well as the development of information technology in my country. This, of course, is a very difficult and responsible task for me, but I'm ready to go through all the obstacles, with great desire to return to Armenia after my studies and invest my knowledge and experience in the development of information technology in my country.

Your donation will go to my cousin's bank account in Germany and he will make sure your money gets to me. Go fund me doesn't yet deal directly with banks in Armenia.

My biggest goals 


I am going to set up my start-up the main purpose of which would be to make human life better than now. And to reach my aim, there are two essential components. Firstly, I must have a high-quality education. Secondly, I should have a good team. My team will consist of motivated and hard-working people. I am convinced that we can use machine learning for the better purpose. 

The interest in Machine Learning has started since 10th grade. Our school has a tradition which makes the students do research in any field they like. My research concerning the fields of computer science and mathematics with a name of  "Training of neural networks via backpropagation algorithm". My research was the second best research in those fields. During this research, I discovered and solved a lot of interesting problems which helped me to grasp ML in a more advanced level.

My extracurricular activities 

As a volunteer, I have been to the Masis Youth Center where I have taught mathematics and has been an organizer for the intellectual game, and I also created the Astronomy group with my friend that did not work because no one had an interest in this miraculous science. I have attended Karate for four years and have achievements . 



I commit a lot of interest and engagement in social activities. I participated in the programs at UN(United Nations) in Yerevan where we discussed the problems which our society has to deal with.  We discussed topics concerned the availability of inclusive education in Armenia and the problems that people with disabilities face while integrating into society, as well as those Sustainable Development Goals and their respective targets that are closely connected with the above-mentioned problems. The topics we discussed also included the issues of racism, discrimination, tolerance, xenophobia, human rights, global humane values and objectives that United Nations supports and endorses, as well as their reflection in the Armenian society.



What I need

My path towards becoming a computer scientist will begin with four years of undergraduate studies in the field of Computer Science, during which I will acquire the necessary skills and aptitudes for going into practice. Unfortunately, my family is not able to cover the full cost of my university expenses. As a result, I will need financial assistance in order to be able to receive higher education at a world-class University and eventually reach my goals and aspirations. Being a citizen of Armenia, I also cannot take a loan from US-based universities. Thus, I have created this crowdfunding campaign, asking people’s, your, help, hoping to get support.
