Help me solve the riddle of my face

Hi friends, thanks for taking the time for this. My name is Niko, I'm a trans woman living in Toronto, Ontario. I work as a freelance writer, a repair person for other queer people in need, and I work to help trans people in the music industry. 

As you can imagine, I am not what you would call "rich". 

I have been transitioning for a few years now, and it has been a richly rewarding experience. I've learned a lot about myself, who I am and more importantly, I have a glimpse at a future where I can be a person that lives a life of relative comfort.

This is where I need your help.

Despite the years spent on medication (that I pay out of pocket for), I have a major issue with my face. I do my best to find the right angle for it, but every time I do I see my massive jaw, my cleft chin, my deep set eyes and brow and more. It creates spirals of dysphoria for me that can be debilitating. Worse, it's the thing that gets me misgendered in public the most, a thing that puts me in a position of being unsafe. I have been attacked before, I was jumped by my house in 2017, and as such I have a fear that things like my face cause people to react negatively to me. It makes living and existing in the world a struggle.

To that end, I'm working to my goal of having Facial Feminization Surgery performed at the FFS clinic in Montreal, a procedure that is not covered by the Canadian healthcare system. 

This is a medical necessity for me. Without this, I fear I will never be allowed access to a life where I am seen for who I am, and feel safe in that visibility. 

Any amount you can spare will be life-changing for me, and will set me on the path to being able to grasp at a life I have dreamed of for 38 years: one where I am allowed to live comfortably as myself.

This funding will go to help cover the cost of the procedure, travel to and from Montreal, and other associated costs.
