Help Me Shed a Light on Betsy DeVos

Donald Trump was just in Michigan, introducing Betsy DeVos, his pick for Secretary of Education, to the world. With your help, I'll be heading there next month to talk to the real experts on DeVos' legacy. Here's what I'm up to:

1. I'll be recording a podcast featuring parents in Detroit so that you can hear for yourself what it means when people say the Motor City is the "wild West" of charter schools.

2. I'll be interviewing Michiganders of all stripes about what the market-oriented policies DeVos supports have meant for the state and its schools.

3. And I'll be headed to western Michigan, home of the powerful DeVos family and the center of the state's increasingly influential charter school lobby.

I'm hoping to raise $5,000 to support my reporting trip to Michigan.
