Help me save lives as a volunteer animal rescuer

Hi everyone. My name is Steve, and I've volunteered my time for myriad animal-related projects over the past many years. I am now driving rescue missions as a volunteer to transport injured Wildlife or rescued domestic animals to places of safety and healing. I have recently begun to make some of the actual rescues as well, primarily raccoons but also other species, and it's incredible to be such an integral part of the process. I want to be able to do this as often as possible, but the current price of gas has made it challenging to take on more than a couple of cases a month with our tight budget. Many of my journeys are around 200 km round-trip, and currently we pay about 17 cents per km for gas in our car. So those trips cost my family at least $34 in gas alone, which is all I am looking to help cover. My pledge to any of you who donate is simple: every single cent I receive will go only toward the cost of gas used to transport the special cargo and nothing else.

I have set my current ask at $750 in total; I’ve raised $340 so far through GFM (minus small fees from them) and this has funded about two thousand kilometres of rescue driving.
