Help Me Reignite My Music Journey & Give Back Through Sound

Many years ago, music wasn’t just a hobby for me, it was my life. I worked as a DJ and music producer, pouring my creativity into every set and every track. But as life evolved and responsibilities grew, I stepped away from music to pursue a more stable career to support my family.

Over time, something important started to fade. As someone who is deeply creative, I found myself without an outlet, and it slowly began to take its toll. I fell into a rut, and the weight of everyday life became overwhelming.

Then came the COVID lockdowns.

Like many others, I turned to online DJ streams, many hosted by people I knew and had worked with in the past. Through them, I reconnected with music… and with myself. Inspired and supported by that community, I took a leap and started DJing again on Twitch under the name bruce_rillis.

Since then, I’ve been streaming regularly, and what started as a personal escape has become something much bigger.

Every Saturday, I host a live stream on Twitch called “Saturday Love” a space where people come together to forget their stresses, lift each other up, and just enjoy music. Over time, we’ve built a genuinely warm, inclusive, and supportive community. For a few hours each week, people can breathe again, and that means everything to me.

Music helped bring me back from the brink of a mental health crisis. Now, I want to give that same sense of relief and connection to others.

The Next Step — Creating Music Again

One question I get asked a lot is “When are you going to start making music again?”

The truth is, I want to. More than anything.

But there’s been a barrier.

My current setup is outdated and complicated. To even start an idea, I have to go down to the basement, power up multiple pieces of equipment, and navigate a workflow that makes it difficult to stay in that creative flow, especially with limited time and a neurodiverse brain that can turn small obstacles into big ones.

Recently, a new piece of gear has been released that could completely change that.

It’s a compact, standalone sampler that would allow me to create music anywhere, quickly, intuitively, and creatively. It removes the barriers and lets me focus on what matters most: making music.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I’ve never really asked for anything from this community beyond your time, your presence, and your energy, and you’ve already given me so much.

But now, I’m asking for a little extra help.

My goal is to raise £350 to purchase this new piece of equipment and fully reopen that creative door.

With it, I’ll be able to:

* Start producing music again

* Share new tracks with the community

* Create my own remixes

* Continue building something positive for everyone involved
