Help Me Pursue My Calling: My Doctorate of Physical Therapy

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kadesha Alawar-Taylor, and I’m stepping out in faith — believing with my whole heart that where God guides, He provides.

I was raised in a marginalized community where opportunities were hard to come by and the right resources were even harder to access. My parents worked endlessly just to make ends meet, and we often lived paycheck to paycheck. But even in the struggle, they poured everything they had into me — teaching me to fight for what I believe in, to never give up, and to keep God at the center of my life.

I’ve never had it easy. Every step of my academic journey has been marked by sacrifice, faith, and relentless determination. For the past eight years, I’ve done everything in my power to pursue an education in the U.S., despite the odds stacked against me. I started at Macomb Community College, completing my general studies. Then, I went on to The University of Olivet, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. From there, I continued my journey at Indiana State University, earning my Master’s in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science.

Now, I’ve reached the final step: I was accepted into the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at the University of Evansville in Indiana. This opportunity was a dream come true — a door I wholeheartedly believe God opened. I said yes with faith, courage, and a heart full of purpose.

But now, I’m facing one of the greatest challenges of my life.

After being denied multiple student loans, I do not currently have the funds to pay for my tuition. Without financial assistance, I will lose my student visa and be forced to drop out of this program. That means not only walking away from my dream — but watching years of hard work, sacrifice, and faith unravel in an instant.

This isn’t just about a degree — this is about a calling. I truly believe I was meant to serve others, to bring healing, and to be a light in the healthcare field. My heart is set on giving back — especially to underserved communities like the one I came from. I want to be a source of hope, encouragement, and strength for people who feel like giving up.

I’ve come too far to give up now. But I can’t do this alone.

If you feel led to give, any amount helps more than you can imagine. Your support — financial, emotional, or spiritual — would mean the world to me. If you’re not in a position to donate, please consider sharing my story, subscribing to my YouTube channel, or simply lifting me up in your prayers.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Thank you for caring. Thank you for believing with me. I still believe in miracles — and maybe, just maybe, you’ll be a part of mine.

With love, gratitude, and unshakable faith,
Kadesha Alawar-Taylor
