I’m starting this fundraiser for myself as I work toward a career in dermatology. I already earned my cosmetology license, and I’m doing everything I can to keep moving forward, but right now I need help saving for college. I work every day in customer service, and after my shifts I also do services to bring in extra money for my savings and for household expenses. I help my parents with bills and necessities because my family has been going through a difficult time. My mom became sick and had to stop working, and she has been going to endless doctor appointments and mini surgeries to try to get a diagnosis. My dad works every single day as a laborer and makes just enough for bills and groceries.

 My dream of going into dermatology grew even stronger during cosmetology school. I learned so many interesting things about skin, and I truly loved doing facials. Then after my mom got sick and started going through so many dermatology appointments, I felt even more drawn to this path. I want to study this field more because it helps people like my mom, and it’s something I genuinely love doing and researching. More than anything, I want to take some of this weight off my family. It hurts seeing the people I love work so hard and still carry so much stress, and I just want us to be able to breathe a little easier, feel more secure, and be closer to each other instead of constantly worrying about money and work.

 I also don’t want my parents to feel guilty or think that because of everything happening at home, I have to let go of my dreams. The support from this fundraiser will go toward my college savings so I can continue pursuing school, keep helping with household needs, and relieve some of the financial and emotional pressure we’ve been carrying. Any support helps me keep working toward my future while helping my family feel a little more stable, supported, and hopeful.
