Help Dawn Play at WJUC (Worlds)!

Hi! My name is Dawn Culton, and I was recently selected to play for the US National Team at WJUC (World Junior Ultimate Championships) this summer. I'm thrilled and honored to be able to represent the USA in Waterloo, Canada this summer :) However, this endeavor is quite expensive and I need some help getting there.

WJUC is the world championship for youth ultimate. You must be under 20 years old to play, and it occurs every 2 years. If you want to find any more information on it, here is a link to the tournament page

Ultimate is a unique sport as it focuses on something called Spirit of the Game. Spirit of the Game is, to me, a responsibility towards the entire ultimate community that one holds to both uphold the rules and the truth in a way that respects their team and their opponents. At the same time, it is the culture of acceptance and fun that binds the ultimate community together. It is what allows ultimate to be played without referees.

A bit more background on me if you're curious: I'm 17 years old and a senior at my high school. I've played ultimate (frisbee) since I was a freshman. During the school year, I play on 3 teams. I play on my high school's girls team, of which this is my second year captaining. I also play as one of only three girls on my high school's open team. Additionally, I also play on Tourists, a team consisting of high school girls who go and play at college tournaments. This school year we have won 4. I spend my summers playing youth club ultimate for my area's U19 girls team Warhawks. This past summer we became the only team in our division to ever win Youth Nationals other than Seattle.  While there, I received the Spirit of the Game award, an award given to one player on each team for exceptional spirit and dedication. I also coach middle schoolers and am a Youth Ambassador for Triangle Ultimate. Ultimate is what I love to do, and being given the opportunity to play at WJUC means everything to me.

I'm fundraising to cover costs associated with WJUC. These include costs involved with a training camp, the tournament fee, tournament room and board, transportation to/from said training camp and to/from Worlds, and more. I'm excited to be able to play but I can't without some outside help.
