Help me pay for my mom´s cancer treatments

Donation protected

To whom this may concern,

Back in October my mom started to feel a pain in her right leg, thinking it was her sciatic nerve. Her pain started to get worse day by day. She started to undergo medical studies to figure out why her pain was gradually growing. A side note: My mom lives in Mexico and she doesn't work; so she does not have insurance to cover the costs of public healthcare in Mexico, therefore she has to undergo treatmeants through private medical services. This means that the treatments are expensive. she went to one doctor and spent most of her savings on the studies she was sent to do. The doctor then told her she had three hernias in her spine which were causing her pain.  She then bought the prescribed medication. Despite the medication that my mom was taking the pain kept on getting worse. My mom then went to get a second opinion, and the other studies she had to undergo made her spend the rest of her savings. The results from the second opinion were not favourable and led to the diagnosis of multiple blastic metastasis meaning that the cancer has spread to her bones, so we were told. The doctor prescribed morphine which is not helping ease my mom's pain. We went to the Oncology Institute of Mexico that accepts patients of low income to treat their cancer, however, the hospital was oversaturated with patients and she was put on a waiting list; not knowing when she will be able to get a bed.

Due to COVID-19, I haven't been able to get the resources to help my mom because i have my rent to pay and bills in Canada. I had to take a leave from my job not allowing me to reserve funds to help pay for my mom's bills and medication. Each bill for each study is around 18 thousand to 31 thousand pesos which roughly translates to one thousand to 1,800 dollars . My mom's pain is debilitating her, thus she needs 20,000 Mexican pesos to get admitted in the hospital and start the treatments right away. According to the doctor, after this, there is gonna be costly service fees (approximately, an additional amount of 29,000 pesos; which alltogether is roughly the 3,000 Canadian dollars that we are asking for) for the chemotherapy and cancer medication. Most of our family is pitching in but it still is not enough.

I plead with you guys in order to help us pay for my mom's cancer studies and pain medication while we wait for the hospital to accept her. Once she is in the hospital my family and i pray that she gets better; or worst case senario, manages her pain in order to live her last few days without the pain that she is experiencing right now.

We'd appreciate if you guys would help us out (even a small amount would make a huge difference) however, if you can't afford to peach in, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

In advance, me and my family would like to give you ourgratitude for your support and if you could share this with people who could help us, that would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gisselle Meyer-Navarro
