"yellow wood" film by Jacob Trask

Hello everybody! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jacob Trask and I'm a film student at the University of Tampa. I'm making a short film this winter, and I'm looking for all the help I can get. This film is my directorial debut, and it's extremely important to me, so I'm doing everything I can to make this happen.

I recently made the budget for the film I want to make and it is going to cost $6,000. This budget includes my Director of Photography, an award winning cinematographer from Tampa named Chris Rish. Chris is easily one of the best in town, and will play an enormous role in how the movie looks on the big screen. Chris will help make this more than just a student film, which is why I'm seeking out the best.

Other things included in my budget will be...
-Sound operator and equipment
-Lighting rental
-Actors
-Post production
-Location rental
-Meals for cast and crew
-Baseball uniforms
-miscellanious sounds for post
-music synchronization license
...and smaller costs that will come up at the time of filming.

To tell you a little bit about the film, it is titled "yellow wood", and it is a followup to a feature I wrote called "The Children's Game".

In the feature, a high school baseball player named Franklin barely misses the MLB draft after he graduates, and has to return to his annual summer job at the local minor league park. While he's there, he meets a new girl named Bailey, who is a first timer working at the park. Over the summer, they fall in love, but their story is cut short by Bailey leaving for college. At the very end, Franklin is informed that he's going to be signed to an MLB organization.

So this film takes place four years later. Franklin is a successful pitcher in Double-A, traveling the southern states with his team. Bailey has just graduated from college and is moving to LA in a matter of weeks to pursue a career in film. Franklin's team is passing through Bailey's town to play a series, so Bailey goes to a game to watch him. Afterwards, Franklin and Bailey meet up for the first time in years and go on a date. The short is simply showing pieces of their date, from dinner, to flirting at a local park, to sleeping together at her house, to them going their separate ways once again.

I have two really good actors casted for Franklin and Bailey. Miami actor Stevenson Jean will play Franklin, and local actress Brie Golden will play Bailey. Stevenson and Brie are both very talented, and will have no problem knocking this duo out of the park. I'm extremely excited to have them both on board.

My goal is to fund my budget this November and December, with a plan to start filming in the beginning of January.

Any help I can get would mean so much to me, and would get me one step closer to fulfilling my potential as a filmmaker. This is my dream, and it's what I want to do with my life. It's also my passion and I take it super seriously. I'm incredibly confident in my abilities, and I think I can make a really awesome short film with the right resources around me.

There will be rewards for each level of investment (each step up will include the last reward):

$25 -- An invitation to the first screening of "yellow wood"

$50 -- A DVD copy of "yellow wood" with a personal thank you

$100 -- I will provide you with a ticket to a festival my film is accepted to of your choice

PRODUCER CREDITS (including all of the above rewards):

$1000 --  Associate producer credit in the film

$3000 -- Executive producer credit

$6000 -- Sole producer credit

Thank you so much for your help. I've been dreaming about this kind of thing since I was a little kid, and by donating, you're helping make it happen.
