<div>Help Me Keep Beating: My Second Open-Heart Surgery
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi everyone, my name is Viridiana.
</div>
<div>I’m 41 years old, and after surviving open-heart surgery last year, I now need a second one to keep living.
</div>
<div>This journey has been full of faith, miracles, and love — but it has also been very hard financially.
</div>
<div>I’m raising funds to cover my recovery and bring my parents from Mexico to be with me during this time.
</div>
<div>Every bit of help means the world to us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi, my name is Viridiana Tovar Domínguez, I’m 41 years old, originally from Mexico, and currently living in the United States.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In 2016, I was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and pulmonary hypertension in Mexico City.
</div>
<div>This means I was born with a hole in my heart that causes blood to pump four times to my lungs and only once to the rest of my body, making my heart work much harder than normal.
</div>
<div>After years of tests and medical follow-ups, doctors concluded that it was too late for surgery — my heart wouldn’t survive the operation — and my only option was to stay on medication while my condition slowly deteriorated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>By September 2023, my cardiologist in Mexico recommended that I start using oxygen support because my breathing had become increasingly difficult. I would get exhausted easily — even climbing a few stairs was a challenge.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In January 2024, while visiting the U.S., I contracted a severe pneumonia that revealed just how serious my heart and lung condition had become.
</div>
<div>I was rushed to the hospital; my body was shutting down.
</div>
<div>By the grace of God, I received emergency insurance coverage, even as a tourist, which allowed me to get the care I urgently needed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After recovering from pneumonia, doctors told me that open-heart surgery was my only chance to survive.
</div>
<div>On September 13, 2024, at Bellevue, the surgery was performed.
</div>
<div>Against all odds, my heart kept beating.
</div>
<div>Waking up and seeing the clock ticking was nothing short of a miracle.
</div>
<div>That day changed my life forever — I learned that faith and hope truly can move mountains.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, after the operation, tests revealed that the defect couldn’t be fully corrected due to its complexity.
</div>
<div>Despite the doctors’ best efforts, a small hole remained, preventing my heart from working at 100%.
</div>
<div>Because of this, my cardiology team has determined that I need a second open-heart surgery, as soon as possible, while my body is still strong enough to handle it.
</div>
<div>The tentative date is November 25, 2025, at NYU Langone Health in New York.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This new chapter is not only a physical and emotional challenge — it’s also a financial one.
</div>
<div>Since early 2024, my husband Elio and I have spent months in and out of hospitals, paying for treatments, tests, and recovery expenses.
</div>
<div>Thankfully, my parents were able to come from Mexico to be with me during the first surgery — their presence was my greatest source of strength — but it came with significant costs.
</div>
<div>During their long stay (almost six months), their home in Mexico suffered severe damage that they haven’t yet been able to repair. Their well-being means the world to me, and I worry deeply about them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During this process, I lost my job, and Elio has taken on all responsibilities, even taking time off work to care for me and accompany me to medical appointments and recoveries.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That’s why we are humbly asking for your help — whether through a donation, sharing our story, or keeping us in your prayers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are trying to raise $10,000 to cover post-surgery recovery expenses, my parents’ travel and stay, and essential care costs after the procedure.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to continuing this journey — to keep believing in faith, healing, and miracles.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, generosity, and support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With love and gratitude,
</div>

<div>Ayúdame a seguir latiendo: mi segunda cirugía de corazón abierto
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hola, soy Viridiana.
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div>Cada ayuda cuenta.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hola, soy Viridiana Tovar Domínguez, tengo 41 años, soy mexicana y actualmente vivo en Estados Unidos.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Esta nueva etapa representa otro gran reto, no solo físico y emocional, sino también económico.
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Con amor y gratitud,
</div>
<div>Elio y Viridiana
