*good news: The Italian delegation is sponsoring some of my expenses in exchange for my work as an interpreter.
My name is Raquel, I'm from Brazil but currently living in Italy. Like many of you, I’ve been heartbroken watching the ongoing genocide and illegal occupation of Palestine unfold. Unfortunately, neither of the countries I call home are doing enough to stop it.
Global March to Gaza is a non-political, pacifist, and humanitarian movement. On June 13th, thousands of people will gather in al-Arish, Egypt, and walk for three days (approximately 45 kms) toward the Rafah border, remaining at the border, peacefully, for several days to amplify the call for justice, deliver humanitarian aid, and stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza.
Gaza is being starved, bombed, and silenced. The aim is to generate international media attention, moral pressure, and real support on the ground.
Each participant must fund their journey entirely on their own.
-Round-trip airfare to Cairo (covered by the Italian delegation)
-Round-trip bus to and from Cairo and al-Arish
-Basic supplies, water, food, and accommodation for 10 days
*Any surplus money raised will go directly towards providing humanitarian aid.
I will document and share as much of the journey as possible, with updates and photos so you can be part of it too. I'll also be working as an interpreter for the Italian delegation as they are sponsoring some of my expenses.
