Help Me Interview WWII Vets Every Day!
UPDATE: I am still doing the interviews full time but I am taking many precautions because of the coronavirus such as wearing two masks and a face shield at all times and practicing social distancing when I am meeting these Heroes. I am now 22 years old and have not been home in almost four years but on the road interviewing the WWII veterans with just over 1,100 interview so far. The fundraiser is not accurate after 4 years off being on the road, I no linger have $200,000 but $25,000 so I am doing a push for Round 2 of donations in order to be able to stay on the road full times and preserve these very important stories. Hello! My name is Rishi Sharma, I am 20 years old and I run a non profit called Heroes of the Second World War (heroesofthesecondworldwar.org ). I am on a mission to in depth film interview 2-3 WWII combat veterans every single day in order to gain their knowledge and wisdom before it is too late. I plan on doing the interviews until the last WWII veteran passes away. To date I have interviewed over 850 WWII veterans and with your help I will do many more...

These men are my biggest heroes and my closest friends. I want the veterans to know how grateful we all are for the immense sacrifices that they had to make. I am committed to getting a better understanding of the hell that they had to go through in order for me and so many others to have a chance at life today.
My goal is to be an outlet for the veterans in order for them to express their recollections and thoughts of their war days in a censor free environment. I am the same age these men were when they were in combat. I do copious amounts of research before each interview, and I am not related to these men in any way so there is no emotional attachment allowing these heroes to talk to me candidly about the war.
The interviews are filmed, and I make DVD copies of the interview for the veterans and their families!
The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help raise money for my travels to meet and interview the WWII veterans in the quickest manner possible. (I can sleep in the car and ration food but I still need to get to the veterans). When I am not interviewing, I am researching veterans and constantly reaching out to more of the WWII heroes. I have a list of about 300 veterans who I plan on meeting and this map is showcasing a few of them and where they live. Please help me look them in their eyes before they die. It is the worst feeling to reach out to someone only for them to die before you can meet and learn from them. I am also trying to convince the History Channel to make a TV series about these WWII Heroes so if you have any connections please let me know!
