KRISTINA'S CERVICAL CANCER EXPENSES

On April 19, 2017, my friend Kristina was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I did not yet know her at that time, and she did not yet know at that time her cancer was stage 4 and incurable.
After going through multiple chemo sessions and bravely facing all the side effects associated with it she did not lose hope. Unfortunately, cancer metastasized to Kristina’s lung, lymph node, and looks like also to her hip bone. Just a few weeks ago, on November 21, Kristina received a tragic prognosis – she has about 2 years to live. Even more heartbreaking, yesterday, December 14, more news came from her oncologist, and it doesn't look like she even has that much longer to live.
Kristina is still processing the news, but she is determined to stay strong for herself and her two children, 18 and 20 years old. However, strength does not cover the bills and food for her family, or the gas needed to travel to her multiple doctor’s appointments and treatments she receives at a Colorado Springs hospital. The strength does not reduce her physical pain (she wishes she could try the cannabis oil for that).
Today Kristina has shared with me she needs help with her cremation costs. Helping her children get started in life would make her feel so much more peaceful, but instead, she is worried about leaving them to deal with her final expenses. In her own words: “I just want to feel safe and stress-free. Feel as safe as I can as I make the journey into my passing”.
