Since adopting Applesauce from Phoenix Rising Rescue six years ago, she has served many special purposes. She's been a healer and a companion for me, and also an excellent, solid mentor to many other dogs in rescue. Slowly, however, her health took a spiraling, downward turn this past February 2020.
It began with very subtle signs of anxiety. Consultations with three local vet offices, and numerous testing and trial treatments since then have yielded no reliable results. Today, nine months later, her condition has deteriorated to muscle wasting, lameness, lethargy and great sadness. I've felt helpless to help her despite all my efforts.
Very generously, an anonymous sponsor has offered to cover the largest portion of an MRI to help diagnose my sweet but sorely struggling girl. She is scheduled for this special testing this Friday, December 4th at the Vet Emergency Referral Center on Davis Hwy. After making cost adjustments and subtracting the incredible gift of several thousand dollars, a VERY reduced balance due from me to have this diagnostic testing done for her is between $985.65 and $1103.35. An ultrasound and specific bloodwork prior to the MRI is also needed for an additional $186.00 which puts the total balance that I'm responsible for at $1,289.35.
It's been a long and costly road but with this unexpected and blessed opportunity, I just can't imagine giving up on trying to further help Applesauce now. So very humbly, I am asking for donations to help me cover the remaining cost for these tests that will finally shed light onto the complex and mysterious illness that's been so debilitating to her.
