This is an update on my injury on September 7, 2024, when I was in a side-by-side accident. I had surgery on September 19 to repair my shattered scapula (shoulder blade). I lost feeling and mobility in my left arm due to nerve damage. Since surgery, I have had three nerve conduction studies and physical therapy twice a week. After months of therapy and doing research on the extent of my nerve damage, I was referred to a neurosurgeon. I had a consultation on February 13 with Dr. Susan Mackinnon at Washington University Center for Advanced Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

It was determined I need two surgeries to graft my nerves to get mobility and feeling back in my arm. The first surgery is scheduled for March 11. The second surgery date is pending until I heal from the first surgery. I will not be able to work while I’m recovering from both surgeries. It is estimated I will be off work approximately 8 weeks after my first surgery. Money raised from this GoFundMe will be used to cover medical bills and living expenses while I’m not working.
