Help me get Made on Cloud 9 open

Hi, I'm Julie. I'm an artist, and I recently took possession of the keys to new premises in Kirkcudbright, southwest Scotland.

 

Up until two years ago, I was running an art gallery and craft store in the nearby town of Dumfries. I closed it during lockdown and tried to keep my business running online but found it increasingly difficult once I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in July 2020.

 

 

 

 

My treatment was harsh, and my immunity went through the floor, and I had to close the shop in September 2020, reopening it briefly between May and November  last year, but for just a couple of days a week. In November, I called it quits and closed completely.  The commute between towns was too much for me, and, although my invasive treatments have mostly finished, I still have to take drugs which cause excessive tiredness. Moving the business closer to home seemed a no-brainer.

 

The premises I've found, within two minutes walk from home, has been empty for at least two years. It needs total redecoration, both inside and out, new flooring, new lighting and general updating. I've earned next to nothing over the last two years, and the upfront costs are a bit overwhelming. The money raised will go towards materials.

 

 

 

The new business already has a website Look here. I have exciting plans, and I'm very optimistic about what the future holds. I am now cancer-free, and every day forward is a gift.
