Hi, my name is Fredrico Saeed. I’m a 27-year-old from Portugal, and I was born with a rare condition called bladder exstrophy—something that affects only about 1 in 700,000 people.
From the day I was born, life has been a challenge. I underwent 15 surgeries before I turned 13, fighting for what most people take for granted: the ability to live a normal, healthy life. My last surgery was in 2013, and for a while, I hoped the hardest part was behind me.
Recently, I’ve been starting to build my future. I’ve found love, and my girlfriend and I have been trying to buy our first home together. But life has taken an unexpected turn—again.
Due to complications related to my condition, I now need to undergo a critical medical intervention at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the U.S. This hospital has the specialists and experience necessary for a case as rare and complex as mine.
The challenge? I cannot afford the treatment. Between travel, medical expenses, and post-operative care, the costs are overwhelming—and this came at a time when I had finally started to breathe, to live a life that felt somewhat stable.
That’s why I’m asking for your help.
Every contribution—no matter how small—will go directly toward covering my medical treatment and giving me a real shot at long-term health. If you can’t donate, sharing this page with others would mean the world to me.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me fight this battle I didn’t choose—but that I refuse to lose.
With gratitude,
Fredrico Saeed
