I searched for steady work right away, but after getting turned down repeatedly, I fell severely behind on rent and ultimately lost my apartment. Since then, I've been getting by doing gig work like DoorDash and Instacart, bouncing between my car and random couches.

However, between the cost of gas, food, and everyday living expenses while working out of my car, I am still a month or more away from realistically saving enough on my own.
