Hello there all you lovely doggi lovers and other kind souls!

My name is Roni and I'm fundraising for my dog Roxanne's (Roxy's) surgery for torn crucial ligaments in the left back knee joint.

I adopted Roxy in Spain when he was a puppy and since then I always talk in we-form. He is my baby boy, a good listener and the best cuddler. Roxy loves being the small spoon and making new friends (both humans and doggis). His favourite place is the beach, or any sandpit whatsoever, and he can be entertained for hours just looking for the perfect stone in a river bank or finding the yummiest stick in a park.

The surgery that Roxy needs is a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) as his cruciate ligaments in the knee are torn. When these ligaments are torn the lower leg slides forward with every step, which is painful for him and therefore makes him to try and not use that leg. Roxy is turning only 3-years-old this summer and I want us to continue having an active day-to-day life and see him play around with his doggi friends in the same way as before the pain started.

I have an appointment for the surgery on the 24th of June at the veterinary clinic Kleintier Spezialisten in Berlin. The surgery itself costs 2700 euro + pain medication and antibiotics, which has to be paid in whole at the day of the surgery. During the first two weeks after the surgery Roxy will need a veterinarian to check his wound healing every three days (also to be paid for). The recovery time for the surgery is 8 weeks and at this point an x-ray (also to be paid for) will be taken to assure that the surgery was a success and that we can slowly increase movement.
