Help me fight to save my sight

Donation protected
As some of you already know, earlier in the year I was diagnosed with proliferative retinopathy. An aggressive eye condition in which blood vessels and scar tissue have formed over the retina causing significant bleeding and vision loss. Despite having three rounds of painful surgery I have lost almost total vision in my right eye. My left eye is currently not quite as bad and whilst vision can not be restored, what vision I have in my left eye can be stabilised.

The only way this is possible is with Anti-VEGF injections. Unfortunately, this treatment is not NHS funded. Each injection costs around £1000. I have been advised that at least 5 injections are needed in the first year of treatment, if not more. I will then require the injections for the rest of my life.

I never expected to be scrambling around trying to find £5000 to start the process of saving my eyesight at 24 years old, if ever. The fact that I need to pay to be in with a chance of preventing blindness is unfathomable. But so it is.

I need to start the treatment as soon as possible as my condition worsens daily. I could wake up completely blind any day. The gift of sight is one we all take for granted every day and something I am terrified of losing completely.

Any help towards funding my treatment would be appreciated beyond belief.
