<div>I never thought I’d be sharing my story like this. But when you’re fighting for your life, your voice, and your children… you realize there’s no shame in asking for help.

<div>My name is Kaylee Severin. I’m 23 years old. I’m a mother, a fighter, and someone who still believes in life, even when death feels too close.
</div>
<div>In 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 2 brain cancer. It flipped my world upside down, I told myself I would survive it—I had to.
</div>

<div>But in 2024, despite everything I was doing to stay strong, the cancer advanced. Now, I’m living with stage 4 brain cancer.
</div>

</div>
<div>Since my diagnosis, I’ve had seizures, memory loss, and I’ve undergone two major brain surgeries. After the first one, I lost my ability to speak and express myself. For a long time, I felt trapped in my own body, unable to say what I was feeling, unable to explain the fear and pain I was carrying. I couldn’t say what I was feeling. I couldn’t remember certain things about my life. I couldn’t even tell my kids I loved them for months. I felt like parts of me had been taken away—and it broke me.

<div>But cancer didn’t take everything.
</div>

</div>
<div>It couldn’t take my spirit.
</div>
<div>It couldn’t take my love.
</div>
<div>It couldn’t take my why—and that’s my daughters.

<div>At just 17 and 18, I gave birth to two beautiful girls. Today, they are 4 and 5 years old. And they are the reason I keep going. They are the reason I keep getting up on days I feel like giving up. They are the reason I fight, even when I’m weak, even when I’m in pain, even when the fear is overwhelming. Every day, I look at them and pray, God, please don’t let this be the end. Let me live. Let me raise them. Let me stay. They are my entire world. Everything I do is for them. And every night, I pray for just one thing—to live long enough to raise them. To see them grow. To hear them call me “Mommy” for years to come. To guide them through life with the love only a mother can give.

<div>I’ve always been bubbly, open-minded, ambitious, and loving. I care deeply about people. I dream big. I love hard. I’ve always tried to lift others up. Now I find myself needing others to lift me.
</div>

<div>One of my biggest dreams right now is to finish high school. I only need 4 more credits to graduate. I want to walk across that stage with pride, with perseverance,  with my daughters watching, so I can show them what strength really looks like. So I can prove to them—and to myself—that cancer didn’t win.

</div>
<div>But there’s something else I’m facing: In order to get the next phase of treatment I need, I have to travel to Ottawa. I’ll need to stay there for six full weeks, away from home, away from my girls, so I can receive the treatment that could prolong my life with my girls. 
</div>

<div>And that’s where I need your help.

<div>This isn’t just about medical bills. It’s also about covering housing, food, transportation, and basic needs while I’m in Ottawa. My family has done so much for me already, and they continue to be my rock—but we simply can’t carry the full financial weight of this journey on our own.

<div>So I’m reaching out from the most vulnerable place in my heart and asking:

<div>I still believe in miracles. I believe God isn’t done with me yet. I believe there’s a purpose to this pain, even if I don’t understand it yet. I believe that this story isn’t over—that light still exists on the other side of this darkness.
