In July 2024, at the age of 43, I went to the emergency room due to persistent diarrhea, high fever, and fatigue. Blood tests revealed elevated white blood cell counts, and I was referred to a hematologist. After several more tests, I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). This news turned my life upside down, leaving me uncertain and afraid.

The doctors told me that immediate and lifelong treatment was essential. Unfortunately, I don’t have stable income or health insurance. For now, the hospital has been helping me by providing my medication. The drug prescribed for me, Tasigna, costs $22,000 per month — and I’m deeply worried about how I’ll afford it once the assistance ends. 

 When I’m well enough to work, I deliver for DoorDash, earning around $600–700 per month. But due to my health, I can’t work consistently, and this income is not enough to cover hospital bills, rent, food, and other basic living expenses. 

 Every day, I struggle with this illness while facing the unknown. My mental health is suffering. I pray to God, saying, “Lord, show me the way and don’t leave me alone on this difficult path.” Your help and your prayers can bring light into my life again.
