We think this will never happen us. We think "I'm healthy....I take care of myself......cancer is not going to get me. Well.....it got me.
I was diagnosed with occult breast cancer in February of this year. It is the type of cancer that "hiddes". The symptoms don't appear in the breast, so a mammogram will not find it.
I had found a lump in my armpit, though, and went to the doctor about it. A biopsy found the cancer which had invaded my lymphatic system, increasing the risk of the cancer spreading outside the breast or of returning in the future.
I'm a 50 years old single mom of 3 beutiful kids. My youngest daughter aged 13 is still at home with me and my heart breaks to see the pain and worry in her beautiful eyes, and to worry that I don't have enough to pay the rent and buy groceries, because right now I can't work. Never, ever did I think I would be in this position.
I always have worked hard and taken care of my family and tried to help my friends in any way I could. Now I'm reaching out to ask for your help.
This process includes surgery, 16 chemotherapy sessions and radiotherapy. At the moment I'm at the final stage of treatment. My savings are exhausted and the short/long term disability is not quite enough to cover the household expenses and treatment, like rent, utilities, groceries and other necessities.
Anything you can contribute to help me reach my goal and my healings process will be appreciated.

En febrero de este año fui diagnosticada con una metátesis axilar de un cáncer de mama oculto , los síntomas no aparecen en el seno por lo tanto las mamografías y sonogramas no muestran ninguna anormalidad; y como ya había algunos ganglios linfáticos comprometidos corría un riesgo de que el cáncer se propagara en otros órganos del cuerpo.
Tengo 50 años, soy divorciada y tengo 3 hijos que son mi motivación. Mi hija menor tiene 13 años y vive conmigo y mi corazón se rompe cada vez que veo la preocupación y el dolor en sus ojos, también mi preocupación por no tener lo suficiente para cubrir los gastos: pagar la renta, los servicios públicos, la comida y otras necesidades. Nunca, nunca pensé estar en esta situación.
siempre he trabajado muy duro para suplir las necesidades de mi familia y he ayudado a mis amigos en la medida que he podido, ahora me veo en la necesidad de pedir ayuda.
el proceso incluye 16 sesiones de quimioterapia. cirugía, y radioterapia, aun me faltan los últimos meses del tratamiento; mis ahorros se agotaron, y las ayudas que tengo no son suficientes para cubrir las necesidades básicas como vivienda, servicios etc. y las cuentas médicas.
